| Debra Ann Pigliavento - Artistic Director & Teacher


Ms Pigliavento has enjoyed a rewarding career in the professional world of musical theater. Debra received her Bachelor’s Degree in Ballet from the Indiana University School of Music. She began her performing career as a member of the Lexington Ballet Company. Her passion for the Broadway stage took over and Debra made the big leap to New York City. Her Broadway and National tour credits include HELLO DOLLY starring Carol Channing, A CHORUS LINE in the role of Bebe/Cassie and 42nd Street where she was the Dance Captain of the Broadway Company.

In addition to her performing career, Ms Pigliavento has directed and choreographed productions of ANNIE, DAMES AT SEA, BRIGADOON, MOST HAPPY FELLA, A CHORUS LINE, ME AND MY GIRL, and THE WORLD GOES ROUND. She had the honor of choreographing for the legendary Ginger Rogers at the Radio City Music Hall. Other choreographic credits include industrials for AVON, I LOVE NY, promotional spots for NICKLEODEON TV’S NICK AT NITE and CBS TV’S AS THE WORLD TURNS.

Her teaching has taken her to artist in residence programs throughout the capital region. Ms Pigliavento tours the country extensively as a master class teacher and competition judge. She has been affiliated with such prestigious organizations as American Heritage Dance Conventions, Dance Masters of America, Dance Alliance, Star Quest International, and the New York State Theater Institute. She proudly held the title of Lecturer in Dance for the University of Michigan’s Musical Theatre Program. She is currently an adjunct faculty member with the Skidmore College Dance Program.

Michele received her BA Degree in Theater and Dance at SUNY Geneseo and her MS in Education - Guidance and Counseling at Hunter College. She appeared on Broadway in MAME with Angela Lansbury, WOMAN OF THE YEAR with both Raquel Welch and Debbie Reynolds, THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD with Betty Buckley, ANYTHING GOES with Patti Lupone, GYPSY with Tyne Daly, THE GOODBYE GIRL with Martin Short and Bernadette Peters, A CHORUS LINE as Maggie and numerous shows on national tour. Michele appeared locally with NYSTI in their production of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. Michele was a teacher in the School of Fine Arts at Schenectady High School and she has been a guest teacher for the Schenectady Public Library.

 
  |Orlando and Eleaner Pigliavento - Founders, Directors & Teachers

Orlando and Eleaner Pigliavento established the studio in the fall of 1954. They have performed in clubs and theaters throughout the northeast. They have been very active in community theater as performers, directors, and choreographers with the Schenectady Light Opera Company, the Schenectady Civic Players, Proctors Theater and many civic groups. Mr. Pigliavento received his BA Degree from Siena College and an MS in Education from SUNY Oneonta. He was an elementary teacher in the Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Schools for 33 years.
